Shannon Kane served two terms on the Virginia Beach City Council, gaining firsthand experience in local government, public policy, economic development and decisions affecting the community. Serving also on the VA Municipal League board gave broad experience working with localities across the Commonwealth.
VEDP
Appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Marketing and Communications Advisory Committee, contributing to efforts that promote Virginia as a destination for business investment and growth. This involvement provides valuable insight into the strategies that help strengthen Virginia’s economic competitiveness.
Hampton Roads Workforce Council
As a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Youth Services Committee, Shannon helps shape regional workforce strategies, guide programs and strengthen connections between employers and emerging talent. Her leadership brings together an understanding of what businesses need to grow and what individuals need to develop skills, access opportunities and build successful careers.
VA Beach CDC
Serving on the Fundraising Cabinet for Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation to support the development of two new affordable housing communities in Virginia Beach, helping advance efforts to expand housing opportunities for local residents. This involvement reflects a commitment to bringing community partners and resources together to address local housing needs.
